Work is underway on the trial connection of subscribers in Amderma as part of the Polar Express project

To date, within the framework of the Project, cable landing stations have already been built in Teriberka, Murmansk Region (2022), Amderma, Nenets Autonomous Area (2022) and Dikson, Krasnoyarsk Region (2023). Reconnaissance, design and construction works are underway at cable landing stations in Tiksi, Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and Pevek, Chukotka Autonomous Area.

The deep-sea cable laying from Teriberka to Amderma commenced in 2021. Today nine cable laying ships comprising the fleet of Perspective Technologies Agency JSC are engaged in the cable laying and support process within the Polar Express project.

In October 2022, the first section of the FOCL with a length of more than 680 nautical miles (more than 1260 km) from Teriberka, Murmansk Region to Amderma, Nenets Autonomous Area was commissioned.

In 2023, work began on the FOCL section from Amderma to Dikson, which has a length of about 500 nautical miles (or 900 km). About 43 nautical miles or 80 km of cable were laid from Dikson towards Amderma that year. In 2024, as soon as ice conditions in the area permit, works on the section from Dikson to Amderma will be continued.
