The starting point of the FOLS project will be the village of Teriberka on the shores of the Barents Sea, the final - Vladivostok, the line will pass through Amderma, Dixon, Tiksi, Pevek, Anadyr, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. "The factory for the production of fiber optic cable for the transarctic communication line has been launched in Murmansk. The main function of the enterprise is the production of fiber optic cable for the project for the construction of the transarctic submarine communication line Murmansk – Vladivostok – Polar Express, "the report said.
As the Governor of the Murmansk Region Andrey Chibis noted at the opening of the cable factory of JSC "Perspective Technologies Agency " - Polar Express is the unique project for the Arctic, the whole world and our country. "The key production of such a special cable is launched today in Murmansk. The project itself is more than 12.5 thousand km of fiber optic cable, which provides communication between Murmansk and Vladivostok, "he said, adding that production will create an additional 300 working positions for residents of the region.
According to the general director of the factory Alexey Strelchenko, at the moment it is planned to install the first stage of the cable - this is about 150 km per month. "Accordingly, about 2,000 km per year. Next, we aim to reach 3,000 km of cable per year, "he said.
